Ducati has revealed the 2026 Monster, the fifth generation of its iconic naked motorcycle, continuing a legacy that began over three decades ago.
First introduced in 1992, the Monster redefined the concept of a sporty street bike — and the new model aims to carry that spirit forward with updated design, a lighter frame, and an all-new V2 engine.
The 2026 Monster features a completely revised structure, weighing 175 kg (wet, without fuel), making it the lightest four-valve Monster ever built. Ducati says the new model has been designed to be easier to handle while maintaining the aggressive, compact stance that has defined the Monster name.

The new Monster brings back familiar elements from the original while reinterpreting them for a modern audience. Its signature fuel tank retains the “bison-back” shape, now more sculpted with built-in air intakes.
The front end features a full-LED headlamp with Ducati’s double ‘C’ light signature, while the tail section remains short and minimal. A lower 815 mm seat height and narrower profile make the bike more approachable for riders of varying sizes.

At the heart of the new Monster is Ducati’s 890 cc V2 engine, which uses the brand’s Intake Variable Timing (IVT) system. It produces 111 hp at 9,000 rpm and 91 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm.
The system helps deliver smoother low-end power and stronger performance at higher revs. Ducati has also extended service intervals to 45,000 km, reducing maintenance costs compared to the previous model.

The new Monster continues Ducati’s lightweight construction philosophy. The engine serves as a stressed member within a monocoque frame, paired with a double-sided swingarm inspired by the Panigale V4.
Showa provides the 43 mm upside-down front fork and rear monoshock, tuned to balance everyday comfort with sporty feedback. Dual 320 mm front discs with Brembo M4.32 calipers offer strong, controlled braking, while Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres ensure confident grip.

Ducati has equipped the 2026 Monster with a comprehensive electronic suite. The bike includes cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and a bidirectional quickshifter.

Four riding modes — Sport, Road, Urban, and Wet — allow riders to tailor the bike’s performance to conditions. A new 5-inch full-TFT display provides all key information and supports Ducati Multimedia System connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.

The new Monster will be offered in two versions — the standard Monster and Monster+, the latter featuring a passenger seat cowl and small windscreen. Both will be available in Ducati Red and Iceberg White colors.
Ducati plans to roll out the 2026 Monster in European dealerships by February 2026, followed by launches in the U.S. in March, Japan and Australia in April, Thailand in June, and China in August.
